Description
This Magnum Research Desert Eagle Mark I is an early Israeli-made example chambered in .357 Magnum. Manufactured by Israel Military Industries (IMI) for Magnum Research, the .357 Magnum Mark I was the original production version of the Desert Eagle and predates the later Mark VII and Mark XIX generations. The pistol is clearly marked “Desert Eagle .357 Magnum Pistol – Israel Military Industries Ltd.” and “Magnum Research Inc. Minneapolis Minn. – Made in Israel.”
This example is particularly interesting because of its low serial number, 5382. The pistol displays the characteristic early Mark I features, including the distinctive teardrop-style safety lever and original-pattern controls. American Rifleman identifies those features, along with the early barrel configuration, as distinguishing characteristics of the Mark I. An Official Journal Of The NRA
Finished in black with the classic full-size Desert Eagle profile, this example remains in good used condition with visible handling and finish wear consistent with age. One magazine is pictured. No original box or additional accessories are shown. For a collector looking for an early Israeli-production Desert Eagle rather than a current-production example, the low serial number adds meaningful interest.
